Organization
CDART is organized into geographically separate branches overseen by a National Committee.
At present, there are two branches:
CDART South Okanagan which is based in Penticton,
BC. Meetings to be confirmed.
CDART Central Okanagan based in Kelowna, BC. These
meetings are held on the first Wednesday of every month.
The CDART National Committee is made up of four CDART Coordinators. These
Coordinators are able to assist communities with starting their own community
teams or with starting a CDART branch in the community.
About us
The
Canadian Disaster Animal Response Team (CDART) is the emergency animal
rescue division of
Critteraid.
CDART members respond in times of disaster and emergencies when domestic
animals are in need of rescue and sheltering.
Members are mobilized when local authorities request CDART's help and
when the Provincial Emergency Program's Emergency Social Services are
activated. In specific communities, CDART has long-time
established teams but will answer requests for help through local,
provincial and federal government agencies.
Critteraid is a
registered not-for-profit society registered as The Summerland Cat
Sanctuary based in Summerland, BC, Canada. You can learn about
Critteraid at www.critteraid.org
