Organization

CDART is organized into geographically separate chapters overseen by a National Committee.

At present, there are two chapters:

CDART Okanagan based in Kelowna, BC. Meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 6pm. Next meeting on September 28, 2010, location to be announced.

CDART South West BC is our newest chapter. Meetings are held on the last Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm. Next meeting on September 30th, location is St. John Ambulance Surrey, 8911 152 Street.

CDART Mobile Support

The CDART National Committee is made up of three CDART Coordinators. These Coordinators are able to assist communities with starting their own community teams or with starting a CDART chapter in their community.

Volunteers live in various BC communities. As well, CDART has volunteers in Manitoba and Nova Scotia. Volunteers who have indicated that they can respond to emergencies/disasters away from their local communities are part of our mobile support team.

Mission Statement

To provide emergency services for domestic animals in the event of a disaster

To train volunteers in order that they can provide emergency shelter and rescue for domestic animals when responding during a disaster.

To raise funds for supplies, medical treatment for animals, training costs and expenses incurred by volunteers during a disaster.

CDART consists entirely of volunteers.

There are many volunteer opportunities with CDART, Click here. However, persons who wish to respond during a disaster are required to have some cross-training with their provincial Emergency Social Services (ESS) in addition to their CDART training.
