"We usually know by the time a few evacuees have come to the Reception Centre that there is going to be a need for pet care. We then call out CDART - The Canadian Disaster Animal Response Team. These volunteers come and take care of all the pets that come with the evacuees. They have an incredible system for registering the pets, the owners and keeping track of where these pets are going and how they're being cared for."
